Direct Rep Assignment

The majority of the RPM 28 development effort is best described as direct rep assignment. Direct rep assignment has two major components: Assigned reps for Accounts and Default reps for Customers.

Accounts can now be directly assigned to a rep before or after importing monthly commission items. In addition, users can add rep assignment exceptions based on one condition, such as a product. Accounts can also be updated by import using the new import template columns: Assigned agency and Assigned rep.

Customers can now be assigned a Default rep, which will assign every account, regardless of supplier, to the Default rep. Customers can also be updated by import using the new columns: Default agency and Default rep.

Assigned Rep vs. Assignment Code

Assigned rep is an alternative to, and arguably a better way, to assign reps to accounts than assignment codes. We recommend migrating assignment codes to assigned reps. And, to facilitate this, we've developed an assignment code migration tool, which will automatically assign reps to existing accounts based on assignment codes that exactly match an account number from the same supplier.

Commission Item Data Enrichment

Copy from a basic field that lives on Rep, Customer, Agency, Supplier or Account references has been added to custom item variables. Currently, this functionality is only available for text type basic fields.

An example of how this new functionality could be used is to add a customer's industry classification that would be then automatically attributed to every commission item from this customer.
